Time Runs on Ahead of Me

With the longer days of summer I find I try to put 2 or 3 days in each sun evolution, and it still doesn't get me to posting very often...so I say "Hello friends and followers who find your way here.  I am grateful to feel your presence as I gather images to share."

Summertime!  What a joy!  I just got in from picking black raspberries and apple drops, wandering the woods.  I spent much of the day in the studio because it was Barre's Heritage Festival and our director wanted to have a open house with studios receiving guests.  Fun to feel the building so alive and fun to visit with other artists there, as well as onlookers.  Another hope for a sale, but alas, everyone said they already had too much and wanted to get rid of rather than take more on.  I can so relate, but I still get so charged by making things.  The above piece is painted over another piece, mat and frame included in the repaint.  Why does this one charm me so?
Here's another effort....I painted a folding table top...loved working within the frame again.  It's like challenging me to create within borders...also cheaper than canvas.  This one is still not finished, but always good to look at it in a different light.

Last week, Bruce and went canoeing at Boulder Beach.  So beautiful
I can't remember whether this painting was done before Boulder Beach trip, but I see a similar theme.  I do like rocks.
I like reflections too.  This is arrow root.

Sunday we gathered up another friend and went to Adamant to Quarryworks Theater.  We had a lovely picnic to partake at this gorgeous quarry before the play but we were sadly informed that there would be no evening performance....the website was misinforming, but we had the park to ourselves, got serenaded by one of the actors with a terrific voice and we got home before dark.  Not bad!

New silk piece...I can see the quarry coming through. can you?

Wonderful sculptural forms in the old machine workings of the quarry, left for our wonderings.
And I now leave you to your wonderings as I make my way toward slipping into the comfort of the bed.  Blessings to you all!

Love the way you describe your summer days...paintings, rocks, quarries, canoeing, more rocks...my pleasure to stop by!

It's looks like you've been wonderfully busy. I love the quarry photos, and I can definitely see the landscape there coming through in the silk colors and forms. The paintings look great too.
