Doing the Red Thing...It's Seasonal!

Red, folks are asking for reds!  Last week I did an order which needed red and greens, my greens were dulled and neutral, like many of the clothes I see being worn about me here in VT.  My customer was pleased.  Browns, purples and blacks came into the red scene, and neutrals.  When a scarf is a favorite, it can be worn with so many of the pieces of clothing already in the collection.  Let's enhance what we already love is one of my mottos.  Since I pin layer after layer of silks on the dye bled cloth on the table, there is much pulling and transfering of the colors beneath.  makes for magic happenings.  I like the surprise effects, sometimes so much more exciting than if I had thought it all out.
Deep rich reds, not directly from the bottle on jacquard silk.  More riches.
Here's the order I packed up today for my gallery in New Hampshire.  Art-To-Go, where one can get your hair done and then accessorize.  Seems to work.  Kate wanted the warm collection to add to what she already had displayed.
Look!  No red here....I tried out my cheap box of oil pastels on the sketchbook, using them very carefully, the soft touch, not to rip the paper.  It entertained me while the commercials were on, almost 5 minutes worth.  A lot can happen in 5 minutes.
This piece is inserted....acrylics on wall paper with oil pastels, done during the box painting frenzy pictured in previous post.  Gosh it is so good to be feeling like making a frenzy again and heating up with reds.

There are many good shows up to enliven your holidays.  ARA group show in City Center and Library, Good Fibrations at Wood Gallery, and Studio Place Arts, Celebration Member Show with opening reception on Sat the 20th, 4-6.  3 floors of great art and crafts,  and food treats to delight the senses.

Just talked to my brother and his wife on skype.  It blew him away.  Now he can see his mother.  yes!

Maggie, the scarves look gorgeous. And it looks as though the sketchbook is inspiring some lively fun work. I hope you have a grandly successful holiday season.

Hello Altoon, such a kind message, thank you. Potential success already in process and yes, feeling the inspiration with this sketchbook project. Have more ideas than I can put down. Happy Thanksgiving. We've been having thanksgiving meals already, Harvest dinners.
