HOPE, HEART, HEALING--Valentine to Obama

HOPE, HEART, HEALING
Originally uploaded by colormuse

Took the challenge...to make a Valentine for President Obama. My friend Dd urged me on and once an idea is lit in my mind it expands like a wild fire. So after seeing the art at MFA residency, I returned to studio and started laying out some supplies, words turning over in my head, forms coming and going. I ripped a lovely heart in 4 pieces and couldn't put it back together again. What! Yesterday afternoon when some of trip prep done I returned again to the mess in the studio and made a creation. it had to happen quickly...time was disappearing and it had to be a one off because I couldn't sink further into the project, but the mind no longer wanders in ideas and now I am free to finish off the packing and to send it off to White House. The copper sparkles don't come off well in the image, alas.

We all need some extra love and support in these trying times.
Blessings to you all.

Nice valentine...he sure has a tough job right now...the lines seem drawn so deeply...hope, heart and healing is the best.
Best of days to you and your sister settling your mom into a new home. As my mother got older and more and more in a daze she was easier to work with...I hope that is the case with you...none of this is easy, being a kind child as an adult.

I suppose, that in the end, that governance is a matter of the heart rather than a matter of the mind...and mending cracks in a broken heart makes perfect sense...God bless us, everyone...

Greetings Maggie,

This was a wonderful idea and I am pleased you sent it to the president.

I wish this country would understand that the problems and the mess that the US got into took eight years and cannot be undone in less than a year. It is going to take time and we need to stand behind our man.

Thank you for sharing,
Egmont

This is great Maggie....
encouragement is perfect for a valentine...I'm inspired Maggie...

I heard on our excellent national radio thrusday night in japan they give valentines to everyone so no one will be left out...and the women buy chocolates for themselves as a reward for their dutifuness to everyone else. I found it touching...
as I found this tonight visiting you!

Ah, so nice to hear from you all....and happy Valentine's Day to you....wonder if this will really reach the President's hands? Though the best was to gather my thoughts, put then in words, and send them off. Did my heart good.
