Land Forms

Land Forms

Finally I have been to my studio to paint for the last 2 days. Yeah! This painting progressed to a showable form today. I started this 36x30 inch canvas some weeks ago, but then I went off to a couple of art shows, started weaving again, and doing a couple of scarf orders. Painting had to be put aside. Today I did computer work, organization for an all day conference tomorrow, then drove an order to Burlington to Frog Hollow. I kept going to the studio but when I got there, I wondered what energy I had left.
This is the painting as I found it today and I sat with it to understand where even to begin.  The top portion had not been touched the day before...what if I got out just a few colors for the top...white, green, and naples yellow....my palette already had some paint left on it which allowed for more mixing.  I made a lovely creamy color and I was off.  An hour later I looked at my watch.  Time had not been relevant while I was painting.  No music.  No book on tape.  I was singing a bit to myself and I was mixing colors and applying them to the canvas.  What a great thing to do!  I do love to paint.  Now what do I do to market my paintings?  Ah, that is the question......

Still to be able to make form dance, to come alive on a white canvas.  That is a joy.  Maybe Friday will find me at the studio again....Thanks for checking in.

This is a beauty...glad to read you found your art making space in spite of all the running about...good that you settled in and enjoyed the ride.

Busy times for you, but this is lovely. For me, the colours remind me of Northern hills as they start to take on Autumn shades.

Hi Mary Ann and Annie, thanks for your comments. Yes, busy, but so affirming to capture a painting and bring it to life.
