Wafrica---new discovery

So excited to be introduced to Serge Mouangue, a Cameroon born designer, who has developed textiles and then worked with Japanese based Kururi, to come up some incredible kimonos.  Robyn of artpropelled.blogspot.com led me to this discovery and I am grateful for her contact and her excellent blog.  So exciting to have doors open into the world.  Wafrica --a search for ways to express a new aesthetic by transformation of timeless iconic symbols.  My son Ezra lives and works in Cameroon and I wish I had a Kururi to sew up some of my fabrics into these kimonos....many links to make connections. I hope my links work so others can be connected through them.

At one turn it's a big world and then another the world becomes small...Your son in Cameroon, loving this photo and the connections with fabric and this designer. We are all richer because of blogland.

Hi Mary Ann...some of us are playing in blogland and richer for it, others seem to shy from its very existence. Hmmmm...have a good weekend.
