Dye table family

Dye table family

Experimentation and learning forever. All the red is pick up from undercloth. Always exciting to see the silks after steaming, wash out, and ironing when they show their true colors.

I'm baffled by this view...not sure what I'm seeing...are these shapes remaining from other dye attempts? Your recent paintings in the sidebar have similar and beautiful shapes!

Thanks Altoon, yes, pieces need to get more dynamic and with contrast as the table darkens with dye: otherwise too dark and "muddy".

Hi Mary Ann, there are 5 scarf blanks pinned to 4x8 table top. What you are seeing are the actual scarves, but change will happen as they are steamed, washed out, and dried. Some of the darkness picked up will lighten, but the shapes are purposeful and yes, my paintings and the silks mimic each other.
