Imbolc, celebrating lengthening days

Snow comes again, and again, in these days.  The monster storm which is shutting down much of the US approaches.  We wait for it, but also know that the tools for snow removal are waiting also for a good run.  How much will be shut down in VT?  Will my dance celebration for Imbloc be cancelled or will the trip 2 towns north of here be too much to consider in the dark with snow falling.  Perhaps.  I do love my Ecstatic dance evenings...they wake up my body and my soul.

This is the scaredeer which Bruce made to hamper the deer eating the berry bushes.  Now he snow shoes to it to see the gathering of deer tracks at its base and knows the deer have found a friend in this form instead of fear.  If we could only find friends instead of fear in this world, we might have more peace.  I am saddened by the conflict and also curious that someone 82 would choose heading a country rather than retirement.  There are so many things I don't understand.
Remember this one?  My embedded towel rag finding its final form....
Changing....embedded further, wax with oil paint and spirit money, but I think there is another name for the Chinese paper burning...anyone else know what I mean?
New one just coming into itself, only a detail but I am seeing the scardeer or perhaps my ecstatic dance. In this world of misconceptions and revolution, I am finding my own way more satisfying.

The sale at Artisans Hand has finished.  Sunday we took it down and put up a fresh display of glorious color.  I will be posting a hand painted silk scarf which will be "up for grabs", drawing from those comments made responding to its post.  Check back in later.  Stay warm and dry and celebrate the light.

I love the story of the scaredeer and how the deer have come, investigated, and made friends with it;the snow makes it look beautiful. I sure hope the deer don't decide to eat your berry bushes. The paintings look great; you're on a roll. And, what is Imbloc/Imbolc?

Hi Altoon, Imbolc is the Celtic name for the cross quarter celebration others refer to as candlemas and Ground Hog's Day. And those deer have been nibbling on the bushes especially the elderberry bushes, that's why we tried to scare them which did work for a while. Now food is scarce, so I can't blame them much....wish I could find more time for studio work, but paying skills have to take precedence, alas.

Lovely to hear from you Maggie!
Cyclones here... snow storms there. Do keep warm and I hope you can get through to the wonderful dance event.
Wonderful to see the painting with the embedded towel. Good working and thanks for all you great comments of late!
