When the Wall Begins to Crumble
Small oil painting titled "When the Wall Begins to Crumble", rich in color and texture, feels bigger than it is. It took me several painting sessions to get here.
This one is brand new, unfinished, 16x18, silk jacquard and silk chiffon, embedded in wax began the composition. The dark green needs development and more layers will be placed, but good to be looking at it again. I left it in the studio and with the snow which keeps falling, I have kept to the house, feels safer. I finished a blue chenille warp and have been selecting sale items for the big Winer Sale which begins next week at Artisans Hand.
Finally got some decent images of the quick paintings I did near Christmas time, some got sent off with cards. Acrylic on ancient construction paper. An exercise to quicken my pulse.
This is one of the last pages in the sketchbook which gets sent off tomorrow. I still have the cover to do, but I have mislaid the hand painted silk I was intending for the cover. Perhaps I'll have to make do with something else...flexibility is one of the words for this year....yes, I'm doing yoga too, and my body is feeling a bit stiff from the push for flexibility...gotta get up and move. Namaste.
