Risky Business

Experimentation in the studio. I love working on wallpaper which already has texture and color. It is also a sturdy paper so I can be rough with it using the palette knife, spreading and scraping. To be brutal with paint and surface, to use colors which aren't seen as kind by themselves....well, it's a bit of risky business, but then putting it out for others to see and make comments about is also risky business....and then sometimes disappointing when it ends up neglected and wrinkled n the pile.......ah, risky business, this art making.

Painting certainly can be a risky business Maggie; this is well put as to the difficulties of making art. But then there's the reward of the actual making of it, the pleasure of pushing that paint around. And there's the result of a painting such as this, with its remarkable energy. Bravo!
Thanks for your response and recognition. Valuable. I love pushing the paint, discovering what can come from the effects. This one pleases me but I get confused about how to take it to the next level.
