Adamant's Blackfly Festival

Saturday was the 8th annual Blackfly Festival in Adamant, a fund raiser for the Coop which has been active since 1930.  It is also a fun raiser for the small community, complete with sculptures, a fashion show, parade, games, music, picnicing,  and some great food.  I was glad I took my camera.  It was a real Vermont treasure.  Glad I can let you see....
This young girl was in the fashion show where she was quite nervous.  Here she is feeling more like herself.
It was all worth applauding!
Yes, I have been working in my studio, but mostly I've been painting silk and working on my designs for the fashion show.  It has been super hot and the silk dries fast in this heat.  So does the garden.  Today I started packing my residency studio as I need to be moved out by the end of the month.

What fun! and how wonderful to turn a supreme aggravation––black flies––into a joyous festival.

Yeah, if you can't beat em, join em. The promoter said getting ready for the festival gave her something else to think about.

What fun! Amazing scary black fly but still there was fun...I especially liked the photo of the children wading in the water. Enjoy the holiday!

Hi Mary Ann, I mdid love lying in the grass watching the children play in the water. My little girl within wanted to join them, but fun to find the images through the lens.
Have a good holiday for yourself.
