New paintings..some so new they didn't make the show

This small oil is just making its presence known, no title yet and still to wet to be taken to Hardwick for the exhibit at Claire's, upscale restaurant...lovely wall color and sizable spaces for hanging.  Unfortunately I did not get my camera into action.  18 paintings went up in good time.  We cleaned up the place, numbered the paintings and I got the list of titles corresponding to numbers.  I even got the remaining pieces in the car before the rains...but then it started pouring and got so dark, I forgot all abut making images.

This painting resurfaced and was turned, adjusted a small bit and renamed Cocktail Hour.  28x22.  It hangs near the bar area.
This painting is small but definite.  I call it "The dream that Stayed with Me into the Day".  Rather haunting, don't you think?

Here is a new one, dry enough to join this Claire grouping, only 14x14, Full Harvest Moon.

I am hurrying here as Bruce is taking me out to hte movies tonight "to celebrate"  He knows I have been wishing to "The Help" and he knows if I stayed home I'd be watching the weather and worrying.  Too much rain someplaces; not enough others.

I did give myself the wonderful freeing exercise to make boxes with acrylic.  I give these away with scarf purchases, but they allow my play when I am bent a bit out of shape by preparing paintings for show and painting those last edges, putting in the eyes and wires, and deciding what shows and what waits for its turn later.  There are a few I wish had made this last exhibit, but really I do have 11 paintings at the Wood Gallery, 3 at City Center including the one in the pizza place and now 18 at Claire's.  I ought to feel good, right?  Now there is someone from France wanting 2 paintings from my website, but it feels suspicious as she has her own shipping agent and she wants to know what deal I will make her...investigation needed.  When it rains it pours!

Be well all readers, find inspiration and make art.

The paintings look great Maggie. I wish you all the best with the show at Claire's.

Love these paintings! The show space sounds wonderful - best wishes for lots of sales!
I think you are smart to be cautious with the French inquiry - so hard to know these days.

Thanks Altoon and Judy for your words of encouragement. Love creating the paintings, feel some challenge with getting them presentable, mixed emotions on pricing and letting them go. Now I will get back to the studio to clean it up and start something fresh.

Good for you...that was a lot of wire hanging etc...so hard to get work ready for shows but a great satisfaction entering the space and seeing walls of your own work...congratulations!
