Spring Silk

Spring Silk

It is time for silk painting again, which also means looking at what I've done through the camera lens and consider the ways to market, This piece was done at least a year ago but it surfaced today and even though the wind was blowing, I took some photos with the thought of etsy.com.
This silk is 22x90, so long it can be wrapped and then wrapped again, dramatic, bold, yet soft.
This is 20x19, a striped scarf stretched on a canvas frame to become a painting.  I just sold one of these and the gallery manager asked for another.  I spent more time today finding and purchasing the right size staples to finish the job than I did painting the silk.  I'm pleased with how intriguing this came out.  And now sitting with Private Practice offering up its drama and my senses sated from the dinner of tilapia with fiddleheads and morels, freshly wild harvested, I'm enjoying seeing how these photos offer up my silks.  It's been a day of mixed blessings....how has yours been?

This last photo of the silk piece placed on canvas is stunning! Beginning with one process and ending in another...remarkable.

Thanks Mary Ann for "stunning!", but I must explain that in this piece the silk is directly stretched on the stretcher--no canvas, so a translucence remains.
