Intuition

End of day--the house has the aroma of the freshly baked banana bread. I have retreated to the upper realms of the house. So quiet. Winter is quieter than other seasons except when the neighbor is blowing snow. After picking up my last paintings from the last exhibit, I went to my studio....drifts, not plowed, but I could walk all the paintings into the studio and begin installing them on the higher levels of the room. I love how paintings transform a space and transform themselves as they take on a new configuration or placement in the room.

My word of the day from "Healing Words" is Intuition--the act or faculty of knowing or sensing without the use of rational process; immediate cognition.

"A good artist lets his intuition lead him wherever it wants" Lao Tzu

What a perfect word for the day in the studio, a place that I felt I could work in as soon as I entered the light in the room. The ceiling is high enough, north light through the window. I allowed myself to slowly move into the work of painting by layering papers unto a board and adhering them. Then I cleaned a palette and stirred my wax. There is more to painting than painting. I find that I need to begin with one and move on to others within the time, not finishing any. I am absorbing myself in my space, loosening my spirit, and finding my way. The time to resolve my paintings is not now.

Blessings to all who come upon these words and find your way to their end for the day.

Hi Maggie, this new space seems to really be working for you - I've been here but just not commented due to my eyes slamming shut - your first markings on your last post are wonderful - so alive and broad - so happy for you :)

Intuition is one thing we do not listen too often and it is mostly due to the fact that we are trained to follow certain rules and there is no room for intuition.

It takes years and especially a belief in one self to over come fear and to just let go. Sadly, I have not reached that stage yet.

Warmest regards
Egmont

Ah! Intuition is telling me to
see and to spread my wings --to not let the deep winterness get me down.
Be well and dance....my wishes to you.
