Solstice Tree

These dark days cry for more light. We've been lighting candles for breakfast and dinner. But finally we moved the tree from the front porch into the house. Hurrah! The smell was divine as we afixed it to its stand. This tree was growing on Bruce's land in Lowell until Jonah and Twig took it and a few others down to make way for 2 cars to get off road. That was before Thanksgiving. When Bruce and I arrived late November we noticed the small pile of trees, but it wasn't until our next trip that we rescued 6 trees in the truck. One was given to LACE for their window and 2 others were given away. This one is special to us. We could have had one with more branches, fuller, richer, but I like that it was abandoned and rescued, that it has air to it and it seems so healthy for being cut before Thanksgiving and left lying. How vigorous spruce is and what a wonderful place to put lights to brighten the dark days. It is spirit lifting, filled with stars, moons, leaves, fruit, and a few angels. Celebrate!

You do have a beautiful Solstice Tree...the branches are upright and holding the ornaments well! What a perfect and loving home for this little tree!

What a European Christmas tree! I love it. It brings childhood memories out of the cobwebs.

warmest regards this holiday season,
